Stylish Clothing fashions

Early Western travelers, whether to Persia, Turkey or China frequently remark on the absence of changes in fashion there, and observers from these other cultures comment on the unseemly pace of Western fashion, which many felt suggested an instability and lack of order in Western culture. The Japanese Shogun's secretary boasted (not completely accurately) to a Spanish visitor in 1609 that Japanese clothing had not changed in over a thousand years.   However in Ming China, for example, there is considerable evidence for rapidly changing fashions in Chinese clothing.   Changes in costume often took place at times of economic or social change (such as in ancient Rome and the medieval Caliphate), but then a long period without major changes followed. This occurred in Moorish Spain from the 8th century, when the famous musician Ziryab introduced sophisticated clothing-styles based on seasonal and daily timings from his native Baghdad and his own inspiration to Córdoba in Al-Andalus.    Similar changes in fashion occurred in the Middle East from the 11th century, following the arrival of the Turks, who introduced clothing styles from Central Asia and the Far East.
The beginnings of the habit in Europe of continual and increasingly rapid change in clothing styles can be fairly reliably dated to the middle of the 14th century, to which historians including James Laver and Fernand Braudel date the start of Western fashion in clothing.   The most dramatic manifestation was a sudden drastic shortening and tightening of the male over-garment, from calf-length to barely covering the buttocks, sometimes accompanied with stuffing on the chest to look bigger. This created the distinctive Western male outline of a tailored top worn over leggings or trousers.
Marie Antoinette was a fashion icon
The pace of change accelerated considerably in the following century, and women and men's fashion, especially in the dressing and adorning of the hair, became equally complex and changing. Art historians are therefore able to use fashion in dating images with increasing confidence and precision, often within five years in the case of 15th century images. Initially changes in fashion led to a fragmentation of what had previously been very similar styles of dressing across the upper classes of Europe, and the development of distinctive national styles. These remained very different until a counter-movement in the 17th to 18th centuries imposed similar styles once again, mostly originating from Ancien Régime France.  Though the rich usually led fashion, the increasing affluence of early modern Europe led to the bourgeoisie and even peasants following trends at a distance sometimes uncomfortably close for the elites—a factor Braudel regards as one of the main motors of changing fashion.
Albrecht Dürer's drawing contrasts a well turned out bourgeoise from Nuremberg (left) with her counterpart from Venice. The Venetian lady's high chopines make her taller
Ten 16th century portraits of German or Italian gentlemen may show ten entirely different hats, and at this period national differences were at their most pronounced, as Albrecht Dürer recorded in his actual or composite contrast of Nuremberg and Venetian fashions at the close of the 15th century (illustration, right). The "Spanish style" of the end of the century began the move back to synchronicity among upper-class Europeans, and after a struggle in the mid 17th century, French styles decisively took over leadership, a process completed in the 18th century.
Though colors and patterns of textiles changed from year to year,  the cut of a gentleman's coat and the length of his waistcoat, or the pattern to which a lady's dress was cut changed more slowly. Men's fashions largely derived from military models, and changes in a European male silhouette are galvanized in theatres of European war, where gentleman officers had opportunities to make notes of foreign styles: an example is the "Steinkirk" cravat or necktie.
The pace of change picked up in the 1780s with the increased publication of French engravings that showed the latest Paris styles; though there had been distribution of dressed dolls from France as patterns since the 16th century, and Abraham Bosse had produced engravings of fashion from the 1620s. By 1800, all Western Europeans were dressing alike (or thought they were): local variation became first a sign of provincial culture, and then a badge of the conservative peasant.
Although tailors and dressmakers were no doubt responsible for many innovations before, and the textile industry certainly led many trends, the history of fashion design is normally taken[by whom?] to date from 1858, when the English-born Charles Frederick Worth opened the first true[weasel words] haute couture house in Paris. Since then the professional designer has become a progressively more dominant figure, despite the origins of many fashions in street fashion. For women the flapper styles of the 1920s marked the most major alteration in styles for several centuries, with a drastic shortening of skirt lengths, and much looser-fitting clothes; with occasional revivals of long skirts forms of the shorter length have remained dominant ever since. The four major current fashion capitals are acknowledged to be Milan, New York City, Paris, and London. Fashion weeks are held in these cities, where designers exhibit their new clothing collections to audiences, and which are all headquarters to the greatest fashion companies and are renowned for their major influence on global fashion.
Modern Westerners have a wide choice available in the selection of their clothes. What a person chooses to wear can reflect that person's personality or likes. When people who have cultural status start to wear new or different clothes a fashion trend may start. People who like or respect them may start to wear clothes of a similar style.
Fashions may vary considerably within a society according to age, social class, generation, occupation, and geography as well as over time. If, for example, an older person dresses according to the fashion of young people, he or she may look ridiculous in the eyes of both young and older people. The terms fashionista and fashion victim refer to someone who slavishly follows current fashions.
One can regard the system of sporting various fashions as a fashion language incorporating various fashion statements using a grammar of fashion.

How to Bleach Your Hair Safely?

Bleaching your hair is one beauty procedure you want to do with care and precautions. Bleaching your hair pigment strips your strands from the natural hair color and can be detrimental to your hair if not done properly.
Know how to bleach your hair correctly for a great blond outcome. Here are a few guidelines to follow for a successful bleaching:
Do Your Research
Ask your hairdresser for recommendations on bleaching kits, because this is something you do not want to skimp on. The quality and strength of your bleach will directly impact your result -- and you want this to be a success!
Professional beauty supply retailers sell some of the best and most top rated hair bleaching kits, They also sell conditioners to prepare your hair before you bleach. Ask yourself if bleaching would be better handled by your salon if you don't feel confident undertaking the project. Asking a friend to help you can help ensure a good bleach result.
Remember to take precautions because you are handling a very strong chemical!
Condition!
Before bleaching your hair -- and after -- deep condition your hair.
A few weeks before bleaching nourish your hair with an intensive, nutritive balm or conditioner. You are about to strip your hair of all its pigment, so a little extra push of health and your hair will thank you!
Materials Needed
Bleach Kit
Gloves: latex or rubber; latex will let you have more mobility than thicker rubber gloves. Rubber gloves offer more protection.
Towel: an old towel you dont mind bleaching
Mirror: a large mirror to see your progress
A good friend: always a great help, helping you bleach those hard to reach places!
Precautions
Handling hydrogen peroxide is dangerous. It should be treated as the strong chemical it is. Reckless use of hair bleach will cause: hair loss, scalp blisters and other problems.
If you are pregnant, make sure to check with your doctor before using any type of chemicals on your body.
Strand Test
Test a strand of your hair and a smaller patch of your skin (maybe elbow or behind your ear). This is to make sure you are not allergic to the chemical and will not have any adverse reactions.
Go For It!
1. Since bleaching can get messy, do it in the bathroom and wear clothes you dont mind ruining ... just in case you spill, splatter or drip.
2. Wear a towel around your neck for extra protection.
3. Wear latex or rubber gloves.
4. Rub Vaseline or lotion along your hairline and ears, so the peroxide wont spread.
5. Section your hair and start the bleach on the back, working quickly towards the top so it all bleaches at the same rate.
6. Cover your hair with a cap and set a timer to the instructions on the package.
7. When the time is almost over, bleach the roots but be careful to not touch the scalp!
8. When the time is up, rinse out and gently shampoo. Be careful to not get any bleach in your eyes!
9. Never, ever attempt to bleach your eyebrows. This is extremely dangerous and close to your delicate eyes.
10. Condition hair after shampooing to help your hair not feel too stripped.
Want to lighten your hair naturally? You can do it with just the help of herbs and/or lemon juice!

Fashion Of Film City

The 33-year-old Film City, also called Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari, spread over 520 acres with 16 air-conditioned studios and other facilities is set for a makeover. The Maharashtra government has decided to equip it with state-of-the-art facilities and also make it a tourist spot just like the Ramoji Rao Filmcity in Hyderabad.
'There are some development plans that we have just started working on. It's an ongoing process and will take some time before it gets implemented. We will first set a committee that will wholly work on the master plan,' the Film City public relations officer, who prefers to go by the single name of Saini, told IANS.
'In 15-20 days most decisions will be made,' he added.
The Film City, in the northern suburb of Goregaon, was built by Maharashtra government's department of cultural affairs and was inaugurated Sep 26, 1977. Initially, it was called Maharashtra Film Stage and Cultural Development Corporation and in 2001 was renamed the Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari, but people prefer it calling Film city.
It will complete 34 years his month.
Ever since the structure has come up, every second film is shot here, said an official from the Film City adding, 'Among the recent ones are 'Bodyguard', 'Ready' and 'Devdas'. (TV show) Kaun Banega Crorepati is also being shot here,' he added.
Vidya Balan's upcoming 'Dirty Picture', as also 'Burning Train' and 'Shola aur Shabnam' were also shot at Film City.
The government has decided to equip it with lavish and state-of-the-art sets to make it a one-stop for filmmakers. Special arrangements will be made for tourists to have access to shoots.
Besides, a Bollywood museum is also being planned.
'We want that the Film City should become one of the best places for filmmaking. We also want it to become a sought after tourist spot. However, we won't open the entire Film City for tourism purposes. There will be just few places that will be open to the general public,' Saini said.
'We have decided to work on this plan because we used to get many requests from people so we decided that why not do something so that people can see what happens inside a film set and get a closer look at Bollywood,' he added.
General beautification and then maintenance of the area is also on cards.
